The annual Labour party conference means it is a big week for this man after what is arguably his biggest achievement of the last year, survival.

I argue he owes this achievement to his boldness in publicly attacking the power and influence of Rupert Murdoch’s News International ahead of the Prime Minister and his deputy who are compromised by their association with the Murdoch company and its neverending ‘phonehacked’ chamber of horrors.

Updated: 8th May 2015.

It is reported that Ed Miliband will resign as leader of the Labour party after the poor performance at the 2015 General Election.

In hard times it’s good to know you can rely on a Chancellor of the Exchequer to entertain the nation. Stories about incumbent George Osborne reminded me of his Conservative predecessor Norman Lamont who famously let a flat to Lindi St Clair aka Miss Whiplash back in the mid 1990s.

The PM has been struggling to maintain any time for a holiday this year, even the latest staycation in Cornwall. The old quotation sums it up best.
