This evening, Sarah Palin and Joe Biden go into the vice-Presidential debate squabbling over who will help inherit a ‘broken society/economy’ (take your pick). In Congress, the House of Representatives will probably pass Hank Paulson’s revised bank bailout bill. Markets will probably react positively. However, the dollar in every American’s pocket will have been massively devalued. Some of these things may slow the pace of events down, or, they may not. In the UK there may be light outbreaks of distraction.
