One year after Chancellor Osborne’s emergency budget it is becoming clear that the national economy is still rather fragile and there is little sign of any recovery in economic activity. The Financial Times reports* on particularly depressing figures from the building and construction sector which is where signs of new economic activity tend to emerge.
